First up, a big thanks to James at Behind the Couch for bestowing the Zombie Chicken Award on Carfax Abbey, and for having some very nice things to say about it, too.
James as you all surely know writes one of the most wide-ranging and interesting horror blogs on the web, and his forthcoming (and forthcoming, and forthcoming) study of the films of Dario Argento is surely the most eagerly anticipated tome this side of Pete Townsend's book on paedophilia. Not only that, he's also a devotee of red wine and sterling advocate of its efficacy when combined with cinematic entertainment: the sure sign of a man who has got his priorities right.
So thanks again for the honour, James.
And secondly, I'm delighted to be able to announce that I'll shortly be teaming up with Holger over at Hammer & Beyond, and becoming a regular contributor to the splendid site he has been running since 2007. This will give me a new home to obsess about Hammer and British horror movies, thus allowing Carfax to get its mind off Valerie Leon for a few minutes and return to being a more general focus on horror cinema and its history. Many thanks to Holger, and watch this space for more on what's forthcoming in both locations.
